Which dolmens to choose
El Mellizo, also known as Anta de la Marquesa or Data III, is a useful starting point near La Aceña de la Borrega. Look at the chamber, upright slabs and capstone from the path. This page's map link points to this monument rather than the whole collection.
Reading the megalithic landscape
The area preserves dozens of prehistoric stone burial monuments. Sources differ on the inventory, so a fixed total matters less than understanding the burial chamber and its relationship with the land. Different materials were used: do not expect every dolmen to look like El Mellizo.
Choosing a walk
Municipal tourism lists the Tapias, Zafra, Las Lanchas, Huertas de las Monjas and El Mellizo walks. Before choosing, request the current route, distance and surface conditions. For a first outing, focus on one walk and allow time to study the monument; linking several without checking access can turn the morning into a series of transfers.
Access along rural paths
The municipal listing describes free access, but this does not make every track a public vehicle route. Confirm the starting point with the tourist office, park where permitted and respect gates and property boundaries. Download the route beforehand: a dolmen's position on a map does not tell you which path to take.
Enjoying the site without leaving a trace
Bring water, sun protection and shoes with grip; adapt your walk to heat and recent rain. Do not climb slabs, move stones or collect fragments. To photograph the whole structure, change position on the path instead of climbing the monument. With children, make spotting shapes and materials part of the walk.

Frequently asked questions
Are all the dolmens in one enclosure?
No. They are spread across the area. Choose an official walk and confirm its start; this guide's map locates El Mellizo.
Can I enter or climb a dolmen?
Do not climb the stones or force your way inside. Follow on-site guidance and observe the structure without touching or disturbing its elements.
